Inspecting Your Roof Before Hurricane Season
You should always get your roof inspected by a roofing contractor just before hurricane season, preferably in early summer. Also, you should conduct your own roof inspection after each severe storm. In particular, take note if there are any loose shingles or tiles and if so, fix or replace them immediately. Always make sure that roof panels are safely attached to the house so that strong winds don't peel them off and toss them out.
If anything at all looks amiss, call Blues Brothers CC and let us have a look at your roof. Don’t wait for government warnings before you prepare your house for a hurricane. By promptly inspecting your roof and preparing weeks before the hurricane season, you would save yourself from potential damages that might leave you with expensive repairs.

Am I Ready For a Solar Power Roof System?
1. Roof Age
If it has been more than 15 years since anyone has worked on your roof, you should let a roofing contractor specialist take a quick look. Solar panels have a great lifespan thus make sure any home improvements on your roof is made before the actual installation.
2. Roof Direction
Solar panels get maximum sunlight exposure when placed facing South in the Northern Hemisphere, thus in order to be most effective you should place your solar panels in this direction. If your house is facing East or West it can still generate solar power. A roofing contractor will alert you if your house is in this category.
3. Roof Type
In general, most roofs support solar panels. The easiest roof type to work is a composite shingle roof. The most difficult roof type to work is the wood-shake roofs. You should hire a roof contractor with many years of experience with solar roofs and who are well educated in the types of roofs that support solar solutions.
4. Space Available
Usually, solar panels take about 1 square foot of space for every 10 watts generated. What does this mean? If you want 5,000 watts produced by your panels, you’ll need about 500 square feet of available space on your roof. Always make sure you have plenty of space for the amount of solar power you want to produce. Also, take into account that you can considerably lower your utility bill even with a smaller solar roof system.
Don't fret if your home doesn't meet some of these factors. Blues Brothers CC will work with you if your roof is less-than-ideal. We have many years of experience serving the South Florida community and many satisfied customers.

Guide To Hiring A Reliable Roofer
Many experts claim the average life of a roof is around fifteen years. If your roof is under this age, but you are having problems, it will most likely be repaired instead of having to install a new one. However, if your roof exceeds the fifteen years, you most probably will need to install a new roof. A roofing contractor should be employed to handle either repairs or new roof installs.
Always get recommendations from friends and family before hiring a roofing contractor. Also, get several quotes before determining the roofing contractor to hire. A quote should include the work to be done, time-frame for completion and cost.
Make sure to check how long the roofer has been in business. Give preference to roofing contractors with many years of experience. Also, roofers should be properly insured. Always ask for proof of insurance to be sure you are protected from any damage to your home.
Roofing repairs can be expensive and a new roof is a major investment. You should hire the roofer who has the best combination of experience and price and with whom you feel most comfortable. Blues Brothers CC is a reliable Florida Roof Contractor fully licensed and insured. We have over 25 years in the business and hundreds of satisfied customers. We treat every job as if it were our own home we were working on and our fully trained roofers take great pride in their craftsmanship.
